Treatment for vitiligo with Autologous Cultured Epidermis

Autologous Cultured Epidermis Maintaining Melanocytes

Vitiligo is a disease in which there is a decrease or loss in the melanocytes that are normally distributed throughout the basement membrane of the skin for some reason, causing that area to appear white. There are a number of ways of treating this, but it is possible to aim for a color close to that of normal skin by culturing the patient's own skin and performing a transplant with "Autologous Cultured Epidermis" that is rich in melanocytes. This is a surgical procedure in which the affected skin is thinly shaved off and the Autologous Cultured Epidermis is applied over the area.
